James Jensen retired in 2006 after a long career in Law Enforcement serving as city Police officer, a deputy sheriff and a correctional supervisor. During his long career he has also held positons as a detective and as the head of Administrative Support for his last department. While serving in his civilian career, Jim also served 14 years as a member of the Army National Guard after serving  6 years on active duty with the US Military. During  both his active and reserve military service, Jim was distinguished several times. In 1969 Jim was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for outstanding service as a Military Policeman while serving in South East Asia . In 1979 while serving with the Michigan Army National Guard, Jim was once again honored  with the award of the Humanitarian Services Medal for bravery when along with two other Guardsmen he rescued a family who had been stranded during a major snow storm while trying to get to a hospital. The Humanitarian Services Medal is the highest military award that can be given to a National Guardsmen for serving the civilian community. 

In 2002 Jim was recognized by the International Association of Safety Professionals  as a Certified Work Violence Prevention Specialist and he continues to be a much sought after teacher and lecturer on the subject of Workplace Violence Prevention. In 2005 Jim was recognized by the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety as Officer of the the year. 

Jim's writing credits  include several dozen articles on Personal and Business Security. In 2004, Jim authored a very popular Business Manual titled "The Small Business Workplace Violence Prevention System".

Project: "Sentinel" is Jim's first Action/Adventure Fiction novel. He has taken much of his inspiration for his writing from his Law Enforcement and Military careers as well as his travels in the Far East, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America. Jim is currently working on a new fiction novel entitled "Run from Ramadi". After his retirement, Jim and his wife Johnean decided to move to their vacation home on the shores of Lake Chapala in Jalisco, Mexico where they now reside full time. Jim spends his free time writing and teaching and along with his wife works in support of several local charities.
